Welcome to Ocimnet
Hey there,
Thanks for stopping by my site! I first started blogging in March of 2009 as a way to motivate myself to become a more active participant in the story that is my life, as I often felt I was simply " existing " day to day as opposed to really taking a crack at " living ". After several months of loving sharing my adventures with friends, family and strangers my story became slightly more complicated, and out of respect for people I love, I decided to slow down on, and then cease, my blogging.
Eventually I got a sweet new gig working for a company called Weebly, Inc. (like how this blog looks? It's a product of Weebly! Woot!) and started on a fresh path of " rebuilding " my life in a number of areas. Three and a half years later, and I am still so humbled by the generosity, kindness, and patience of the people I work with. Oh, and they are pretty wicked smart and fun, too.
I was given an opportunity to really be passionate about my work ; to be a part a team of truly gifted people as their " Joyologist ".
I was given an opportunity to live in the moment more than ever before ; to laugh more, play and dance more, to give, to learn, to love.
Instead of being motivated, these days I'm *inspired*. To me, there's a big difference there.
More recently, I began my journey into becoming a coach. It has cracked me open in ways I didn't think possible, and I'm loving the connections it's brought into my life. Helping folks lead their most authentic, vulnerable and fulfilling lives leaves me in awe on a regular basis.
So, why the blog?
You see, I have an opportunity to wake up each day and be grateful ; to always send thanks into the Universe for all the many, many good things in my life... and even some of the hard stuff, which gives me the chance to widen my heart and become a more compassionate person towards others as well as myself.
What you'll find on this tiny corner of the internet is a variety of thoughts, stories, suggestions, adventures, photos, articles, small treasures I've found and life lessons I've learned. The common thread between all of them, however, will remain the same. No matter what the scenario, I pledge to keep an open heart and mind of gratitude. I truly hope I don't come across as being 'too deep' for my own good in any of my writing... in reality, I'm flying by the seat of my pants on this crazy ride just like everyone else. I'm serious about living, but I'm not taking myself too seriously.
I have a really rare opportunity to live the kind of life that makes my pulse race and this time, I'm not going to waste it.
I'd love to encourage you to do the same.
Thanks for reading :)
In Gratitude,
Ocim
